Joplin is free note taking application that can be used as a to-do list organiser too. Joplin is a good alternative to Evernote.
Joplin can import Evernote notes and can export to Markdown, PDF and HTML.
Joplin is around 150 MB of download and usage approx. 250 MB of RAM.
